Are Heart Disease and Migraines Linked
By admin
There’s new evidence recently presented at the American Academy of Neurology Annual Meeting which concludes that women who suffer from migraines have an increased risk of either stroke or heart disease. Here’s what the study concludes:
• The study followed 28,000 female health professionals for 12 years. None of the females had any history of heart disease before the trial began.
• Women who suffered migraines at least weekly had a 49 percent increased risk for heart attack and almost triple the increased risk for stroke compared to women with no migraines
• Women with less than monthly migraines were 54% more likely to develop cardiovascular disease and 45% more likely to develop ischemic stroke.
Here’s more data from the story.
